I'm no fan of Twitter. Didn't wish to indulge. But I was (half) persuaded. "Suspended" two nights in a row is making me wonder, though. Form your own opinion @IanBell1916. It begins to feel a little personal. Was it something I said?

  1. Ian - firstly, let me say I'm delighted to see the webpage back. As much as I love the published Herald articles, I think Prosperoinc gives you the chance to be a little more playful, even indulgent - no bad thing! I'm glad my enthusiasm at the Aye Write! event has been rewarded.
Re Twitter - our usage and interests will no doubt differ greatly, but I find it a great way to connect directly with a wide range of opinions. There are lots of great 'Tweeters' (eurgh) out there, you just have to know where to look. Having used it for 2 years I've stumbled across some really objectionable opinions, and I find it unbelieveable that anything you could say would be suspension-worthy. Would you mind giving a flavour of those initial tweets (19 now, apparently - all blocked due to the suspension)?
I'll keep an eye out for your return (@TremendaoNeil, if you're about. More power to your fingertips!

  2. Neil,
Many thanks. Suspended twice now in a couple of days. What bothers me is that I have no idea why. What's more, I object to ending up defined among those who are, as you say, "really objectionable". As my son just remarked, strange days. Perhaps I should change my name to Littlejohn.

  3. Hi Ian
Your account @ianbell1916 is still live - and I am now following you. It's hard to understand how you've managed to upset people that much when you only have 4 followers (including myself, and one of the others is your son!)
The link below has full details of the twitter rules which you have presumably broken
